Beginner Programme
Waimairi Tennis Club offers coaching for all levels of Junior player, from beginner through to advanced.
Our entry level beginner programme, Red Ball ,will cater for Juniors as young as 4 years old and the programme is stepped according to both the age and the ability of the child as they progress through their Tennis experience.
Modified equipment is used in our beginner programme, smaller nets,racquets, low compression balls, this is in line with international best practice.

The goal of the beginner programme is to have the child "playing the game" as soon as possible with the overarching goal being to have them playing Interclub Tennis.
Interclub Players
Interclub Tennis means your child will be playing for a Waimairi Tennis Club team against teams from other clubs in the Christchurch metropolitan area and beyond. Teams are selected each year in September and competitive play begins in October, breaks over the Christmas holiday period and resumes in February finishing in March.
Teams will consist of 4-5 players and each team will receive 1 hour coaching per week in their team as part of their subscription.
