Forsyth Barr Winter Tournament

Forsyth Barr Winter Tournament

Forsyth Barr Winter Tournament

Our Annual Winter Business House competition was due to kick off last night but the weather gods spoiled the party.

Sponsored again this year by Forsyth Barr, The Forsyth Barr Winter Tournament will feature seven teams of 4 players battling it out at the club over the remaining winter months.

With cash prizes on offer at the end of the competition, the teams made up of men and women , will play a series of doubles games each Thursday night.

The fast nature of the format, three doubles matches with different partners over 1.5 hours, has seen Business House become one of the more popular competitions in the country.

This year the teams, featuring players from Premier grade and below, will be playing under the glow of our new LED court lighting system.

Premier Teams win titles

It was a very successful day for both of our Premier teams in their finals at the club last Saturday.
Our Premier Women’s team took out their tie against Te Kura Hagley Park by 5-1, whilst our Men had a countback win over their old foes Cashmere in a tie which was completed under lights.

It was encouraging to see such a great turnout of spectators who contributed to a fitting finals day atmosphere.
