New journey for young Waimairians

It’s been a big couple of months for Lily Bray, Bailee Wilson(pictured alongside father, Glenn) and Kurt Feneon as they prepare for life as a college athlete in the US.

Covering the spectrum of sports, Lily has earned a scholarship to University of Houston for Football, Bailee to McKendree University in Illinois for Tennis, and Kurt to Christian Brothers University in Memphis for Basketball.

These three follow a long line of past and present members or associates of the club who have lived the College dream, Joe Bray ( Lily’s brother) James Spence, Michal Matson, Holly Matson, Dylan Heap, Maddison Aubrey, Matt Woolman to name a few.

A fantastic but at times tough experience for young athletes, the pathway to US college scholarships is being kept open for New Zealanders by the quality of people such as Lily, Bailee and Kurt that these Universities are recruiting.

We hope Lily, Bailee and Kurt have the very best of times in the US.
